Have you ever thought about the functionality of the Programmer? Ok, I feel like I'm sounding like a tech geek..lol...Anyway, The Programmer in today's vast technology is not seen by the final user. Its functionality instructs, and directs any and everything that you see in the world's greatest technology but rarely does anyone give thought into it. Mark Zuckerberg for an example knew what he wanted Facebook to do so he wrote codes to specifically ensure that facebook account holders were able to login, post status updates, accept friend requests and even send email messages.
This is similar to how God works, He is not physically seen by individuals because our human understanding wouldn't even comprehend His existence. This doesn't mean that He can't intervene, redirect, or change the way that our lives plays out. I vividly remember being short about $2,000 for my education during my last year of college. I called my mother and even in my desperation I thought, she was NOT going to help me. After a couple of calls with her in all her sincerity she expressed that she was not going to help pay for my education. She also recommended that I take time off for school and work to save the money. I knew this was NOT an option for me.
At that time I was just beginning to establish my relationship with God and in my doubt, the holy spirit spoke to me and I was reminded of Hebrews 13:5..."God will not leave you nor forsake you." I was at peace and still $2,000 short of paying for my education. I was in the position where graduation was no longer an option for me during that semester. BUT God was still with me and later He showed me that "Seeing IS believing". I had to believe in Him to know that He was going to show up during my unfortunate circumstance. All of my cares and concerns were NOT going to play out in support of my doubts.
I set up a meeting with the Financial Aid Director. She noticed that I didn't receive a grant for my previous study abroad trip that Summer. As I continued to wait, God comforted me and worrying about my education was not an option. Within a week I received a grant from the financial aid office. This was God revealing Himself through my circumstance. He didn't have to show me His physical existence in order to prove His identity but He did have to confirm His word through my hardship. Through this life event and many more God has showed me that I don't need to know when He's going to show up but I do need to believe that He will be in control.
