Spiritual weapons for spiritual battles

I've recently came to the conclusion that finding the source of a problem is more important than the tactics to fight it. When we struggle with thoughts that may negatively consume us or struggle with doubt of overcoming some of our greatest challenges we experience life. Life that which can be comparable with so many others. After all the bible says there is "nothing new under the sun" and "nothing has overtaken you that is uncommon to man". We somehow feel alone and silenced as we struggle with things others may not feel is "Right" or humane even. I'm talking about this because recently Christ spoke to my heart about how important it is that my spiritual battles are fought with spiritual tactics.

If we had a major exam ahead of us we won't just run 5 miles a day to prepare for it we will study the material that we know will be on the test. Similarly if we had to combat a health problem we won't sit and let it defeat us...we'll consume the right foods, take the proper medicine, etc. Spiritual battles for some reason however aren't well identified as these various obstacles we may face in life. Spiritual battles however are common to man. Spiritual battles can be in the face of anyone and can destroy us if we aren't used to applying the proper spiritual solutions to fight them.

My spiritual battle specifically attacked my thoughts and I wondered...why am I going through this? I don't do anything that would bring such mental pain upon me. Then I realized...Satan is the author of confusion. Confusion specifically attacks the ability to think clearly and see things clearly. His goal is to force us to make big things out of small things. His goal is to take away our peace of mind which Christ gives us freely. His goal is to ensure that your life long lived is hectic and cause turmoil. So I recently asked God how can I get my sanity back...free of worry and disruptive thoughts? It's simple. Fight your spiritual battles with spiritual tactics and what I consumed was a huge part of my distress. What I watched on tv. What type of music I listened to. What kind of people I surrounded myself with. Is it possible to obtain a peaceful mind after removing all these things I thought? No, this is just one part. The bible also says pray without ceasing and believe on what you want for yourself.

Believe...this word comes to mind every time I struggle with doubt. For some reason when I believe I act. When I believe I conquer...when I believe I experience...change. Change that which doesn't come with giving up. My spiritual battle must be fought with change. Is change possible? It is only if we believed. The cigarette smoker, the alcoholic, the porn addict...everyday we choose to be complacent or change. We choose to identify things as normal OR satanic and overlook things as REAL issues while eventually they become us. I'm so glad that Christ gives us wisdom as to what certain things really mean that way we don't become defeated and instead conquerors of battles in the spiritual realm.
